Marium is a Lifesciences & Global Health consultant with a remarkable seventeen-year journey spanning Research & Development, manufacturing, commercialisation, and global health. A dynamic force in the healthcare landscape, she challenges the status quo by blending her expertise in biopharmaceutical science, research & development, strategy, operations, and digital innovation across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

With an unwavering passion for science and innovation, Marium leads initiatives tackling pressing global health challenges. Her career includes roles as a senior scientist developing blockbuster medicines for Asthma & COPD, regional manager for Africa combatting substandard and falsified drugs, and Director for commercial strategy and operations at GlaxoSmithKline. She’s also held pivotal positions running the Council for Heart Health secretariat and served as a Senior Consultant for COVAX, alongside various advisory roles with international NGOs.

Believing in bridging the gap between the global North and South, Marium is dedicated to sustainable change. As Managing Director of Mpirical Health, she collaborates closely with governments, organisations and regulatory bodies to develop policies and capacity for positive transformation. Beyond her professional endeavours, Marium is deeply involved in charitable work, serving on the board of trustees for organisations focused on hepatitis elimination, clean water initiatives, and healthcare capacity building.

Since 2017, Marium has mentored medical and scientific students in the UK, guiding them to develop leadership skills and exposing them to challenging, resource-limited environments in low- and middle-income countries. As Chair of The Foundation for Healthcare UK, she advocates for hepatitis elimination projects and drives positive transformations to meet Sustainable Development Goal 3.3 by 2030. Her vision extends towards ending epidemics and combating communicable diseases, inspiring change in the healthcare landscape globally.
