We hosted our first careers and mentoring event ‘How to Break into Financial and Professional Services’ last week, in collaboration with Mentyoo and Deloitte Muslim Network. Held at Deloitte’s London office, with views overlooking the iconic city skyline, a huge turnout of students and young professionals came together. As well as a presentation about networking as a Muslim, the main highlight of the event was the panel discussion featuring experts Ali Almakky (Global Head of Payment Solutions at JP Morgan), Khorrom Hussain (Managing Director at Bank of America), Sehr Askari (Senior Vice President at Citibank), with Ibrahim Ferulloo as moderator (CEO of Mentyoo and Head of Finance at StuRents). This was followed by a Q&A with the audience and networking over pizza and drinks, giving all the opportunity to mingle, chat, be inspired and learn. Most importantly, the evening ended with the opportunity for all to sign up to our Aspire Mentorship Programme, as mentor or mentee, providing free virtual mentoring and guidance, with a professional in the industry of your choice. Thank you all who attended and participated in this successful event! We hope to arrange more such gatherings, so please stay tuned by following us on social media and our newsletter.
