Join us for our ‘Focus on Managing Stress in the Workplace’ event where we will be joined by a leading panel of experts who will talk us through strategies and tips on keeping stress free in the modern workplace!

 

Our panellists:

 

– Adil Javed (Founder and Artistic Director, Alchemy Arts)

 

Adil is a professional actor, scriptwriter, researcher and workshop facilitator. He has featured in films such as Bradford Riots (Neil Biswas 2006) as well as BAFTA award winning films Britz (Peter Kosminsky 2007) and Four Lions (Chris Morris 2010). Adil has worked as a workshop facilitator both nationally and internationally working on issues of identity, community cohesion and inter-faith dialogue.

Alchemy Arts is a Media & Arts Social Enterprise based in Manchester, that Adil founded in 2012 it uses innovation and imagination as an instrument for social change. Alchemy supports people with special educational needs, mental health, dementia and addiction.

 

 – Dr Shahid Latif (Consultant Psychiatrist/Clinical Director)

 

Dr Shahid Latif is an Inspirational Clinical Leader, Motivational Speaker and Champion of Mental health Service provision and Community Initiatives.

Dr Latif has always been a hardworking, dynamic and active member of Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. He works in both roles as a General Adult Psychiatry and Clinical Director, for Adult services and Forensic services.

He has worked tirelessly for the BAME groups for more than 10 years and has completed qualitative research projects for the minority groups particularly the Muslim population where he has worked on the overlap between cultural beliefs and mental health problems.

He was awarded at the Clinical excellence awards in 2012 and again in 2017.
He was also successful in attaining a Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2017.

 

 – Dr Zafar Iqbal (Head of Sports Medicine, Crystal Palace FC)

 

Dr Zafar Iqbal qualified as a doctor at the St Bartholomew’s and Royal London School of Medicine in 1999 and went on to complete an MSC in Sports and Exercise Medicine (SEM) at Queen Mary University London, six years later.

As well as working and setting up various Sports Medicine Clinics, Dr Iqbal has worked as the team Doctor at Leyton Orient FC, Tottenham Hotspur and England FA youth teams. During the summer of 2010 he swapped White Hart Lane for Anfield, when he was appointed Liverpool’s first-team doctor, working alongside Professor Peter Brukner. In 2012 he moved up to the position of the Head of Sports Medicine at Liverpool FC. In 2015 he returned to London and took up the positon of Head of Sports Medicine at Crystal Palace FC and work in Private Sports Medicine Clinics at PURE Sports. He is also the Medical Officer for the London Titans (Wheelchair Basketball Team) and provides cover for local professional Cricket Clubs.

Dr Iqbal lectures and writes widely on various aspects of SEM and believes that all athletes should receive the same specialist care irrespective of their level. He has a particular interest in promoting physical activity in the community and its prescription in the management of associated chronic diseases such as type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular disease.
